My Geek Side

My tech skills include computer graphics (which I’ve taught in college and professional seminars); prepress production; and Web development. (I’ve been building sites since the Web was born.) Specific skills include Photoshop, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and more. I’ve even done a little medical writing for lay people, although I claim no expertise in that field. (It was carefully vetted by medical experts before going live; I’m proud to report they found no significant problems with what I wrote.)

I was at one time Director of Technology for a very small (okay, tiny) company, and then Director of Web Technology for a much larger international corporation. Despite the fancy titles, the bulk of my work in both jobs consisted of inventing and then implementing different kinds of technical communication projects. Currently, I’m a freelancer.
